Plants to the Rescue! - Medicinal Plants to Grow Pt.1

You’ve probably heard about plants that you can use for medicinal purposes. But which one does what? What does it look like? That’s what we’re covering today. PSA: Don’t use plants to replace human doctors, plants can’t help with terminal/chronic illnesses or other maladies. Also, remember to be careful as the herbs and plants here could interact with medications or other plant-based supplements.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
Calendula a common garden plant. When using Calendula for medicinal purposes, only use the petals. In order to use Calendula, make a tincture, ointment, or wash. With these, you can use Calendula to help heal burns.
Holy Basil/Tulsi
Tulsi, or Holy Basil, is a plant that has seen much use across the world. Tulsi has been observed to help with stress and anxiety, along with having other health benefits. However, it is important to be careful with consumption, as we don’t know much about the negative side effects. It’s also generally advised to avoid supplements and only take Tulsi in tea form or raw.
Lavender
Lavender, everyone knows it and its scent. Often used to treat restlessness and unease. It can also be used to treat mosquito bites
